The 129 hornady flat base is a great shortish range bullet for deer. I shot them at 3150 out of a beat to crap Win Ranger in 264 WM using IMR 4831. I hunted power lines and shot deer to around 320 yards. Penetration is always great with a silver dollar hole out the exit side shot from various angles. Breaking shoulders was never an issue.
